Vishnu Chalisa is recited on Wednesdays and Thursdays, during Ekadashi (11th day of each lunar fortnight), and on Vishnu-related festivals like Vaikuntha Ekadashi, Dev Uthani Ekadashi, and Anant Chaturdashi. Lord Vishnu is the Preserver of the Universe in the Hindu Trinity. The Dashavatar (ten incarnations) represent His intervention whenever dharma declines. Fasting on Ekadashi and reciting this chalisa is considered highly meritorious.
