Hanuman Bahuk was composed by Goswami Tulsidas when he himself was suffering from severe arm pain (bahuk = arm). He wrote this prayer to Hanuman for relief, and tradition holds that his pain was immediately cured. It is recited for healing from physical ailments, especially joint pain, paralysis, and chronic diseases. It is recommended on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and during times of severe illness. The text is considered especially powerful because it was born from Tulsidas's own personal suffering and faith.
