Annaprashan Muhurat

Annaprashan (Sanskrit: अन्नप्राशन, literally "feeding of food") is the sixth of the sixteen Shodasha Samskaras prescribed in the Vedic tradition. The Muhurta Chintamani and Dharmasindhu texts specify that the ceremony should be performed during Shukla Paksha (waxing Moon phase), on an auspicious weekday (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday), and under a favourable nakshatra such as Rohini, Hasta, Pushya, Shravana, or Revati.
The planetary alignment at the time of Annaprashan is believed to influence the child's digestion, taste preferences, and overall health. Jupiter's benefic aspect on the Moon during the ceremony is considered particularly auspicious, as Jupiter governs growth and nourishment while the Moon rules the mind and emotional relationship with food.
