बुधादित्ययोगः
Formation Rule
Sun and Mercury conjunct in the same house
Example Chart Position
Aries Lagna example — actual positions will vary
Budhaditya Yoga is one of the most common yogas, forming when the Sun and Mercury are conjunct. Since Mercury never strays more than 28 degrees from the Sun, this conjunction occurs in roughly one-third of all charts.
The yoga combines the authority and confidence of the Sun with the intelligence and communication skills of Mercury. When both planets are strong and Mercury is not combust (more than 5 degrees from the Sun), the yoga produces sharp intellect, administrative ability, and fame through knowledge.
However, when Mercury is very close to the Sun (within 5 degrees), combustion weakens Mercury's intellectual clarity. The yoga is strongest when Sun and Mercury are in signs where both are comfortable — Leo, Gemini, or Virgo.
Intellect & Administration
Sharp analytical mind, administrative talent, success in government or management roles.
Communication
Eloquent speaker, writing ability, teaching talent. Fame through intellectual achievements.
Individuals with Budhaditya Yoga often exhibit a keen intellect and strong communication skills, leading to success in academic, administrative, or literary fields. They tend to be articulate speakers and writers, capable of conveying complex ideas clearly. This combination frequently manifests as a respected professional known for their knowledge and leadership abilities, often in government or educational sectors.
The results of Budhaditya Yoga typically manifest during the Dasha or Antardasha periods of Surya or Budha. These periods often bring opportunities for intellectual growth, recognition, and professional advancement.
