Raja Yoga is the most important category of yogas in Vedic astrology. It forms when the lords of kendra (angular) houses and trikona (trinal) houses come together through conjunction, mutual aspect, or sign exchange. This combination unites power (kendra) with fortune (trikona).
The strongest Raja Yogas involve the 1st, 5th, and 9th lords (trikona) connecting with the 1st, 4th, 7th, or 10th lords (kendra). The 1st lord participating in both creates the most powerful version.
Not all Raja Yogas are equal. Their strength depends on the dignity of the planets involved, the houses they occupy, and whether they are afflicted by malefics. A Raja Yoga involving two debilitated planets in the 12th house is technically present but practically weak.
Power & Authority
Rise to positions of power, leadership, government authority, social prominence.
Wealth & Fortune
Combination of power and luck creates opportunities for significant wealth accumulation.
Individuals with this yoga typically experience a life path marked by significant upward mobility and public recognition. They often find themselves in positions of authority, leading organisations or influencing policy. Their career trajectory tends to be distinguished by a blend of inherent capability and fortunate circumstances, enabling them to accumulate wealth and command respect within their chosen field or community.
The results of this Raja Yoga typically manifest during the Dasha or Antardasha periods of the planets forming the yoga, or during the Dasha of the lord of the house where the yoga forms, especially if they are strong.
