महत्त्व
नरक चतुर्दशी बुराई के नाश और पीड़ितों की मुक्ति का प्रतीक है। भोर का स्नान पापों को धोता है और चौदह दीप चौदह लोकों को प्रकाशित करते हैं। यह दीपावली से पूर्व शुद्धिकरण का दिन है।
