आमलकी (आँवला) वृक्ष भगवान् विष्णु केर अश्रुसँ उत्पन्न भेल कहल जाइत अछि आ ई हुनका सबसँ प्रिय वृक्ष मानल जाइत अछि — लक्ष्मी एहिमे निवास करैत छथि। विदिशाक राजा चित्रसेन आमलकी वृक्षक नीचाँ एहि एकादशीक पालन कएलनि, पूजा आ परिक्रमा कएलनि। हुनकर एहि पालनक पुण्यसँ नगर पर आक्रमण करयवला एकटा राक्षस नष्ट भऽ गेल। ब्रह्माण्ड पुराण एहि महात्म्यक वर्णन करैत अछि। आमलकी केँ आँवला नवमी / आँवला एकादशी सेहो कहल जाइत अछि।
कनाय पालन करब
यदि संभव हो, तँ आँवला गाछक नीचाँ वा ओकर समीप पूजा करू। गाछक जड़िमे जल, दूध, फूल आ तुलसी अर्पित करू, तखन विष्णु मंत्रक जाप करैत १०८ बेर परिक्रमा करू। व्रतक समय कोनो रूपमे आँवला फलक सेवन करू (एहिसँ एकादशी व्रत भंग नहि होइत अछि)। पारणक समय आँवलासँ व्रत तोड़ू। दोसरकेँ आँवलाक पौधा वा फल दान करू। ई व्रत विष्णु-पूजा केँ वृक्ष-भक्ति सँग जोड़ैत अछि।
महत्व
ई फाल्गुन शुक्ल पक्षमे — वसंत ऋतुमे — पड़ैत अछि, जखन आँवला गाछमे फल लगैत अछि। आँवलामे लक्ष्मीक निवासक संबंध एहि एकादशीकेँ विशेष रूपसँ धन, पारिवारिक समृद्धि आ दीर्घायुसँ जोड़ैत अछि। होली किछु दिन बाद होइत अछि; आमलकी एकादशी प्रायः होली पूर्व समारोहक शुरुआत होइत अछि। ई वृक्ष पारिस्थितिकी (गाछ लगायब आ पूजा करब) केँ विष्णु-लक्ष्मी भक्तिसँ जोड़ैत अछि — हिन्दू पंचांगमे ई एकटा सुन्दर एकीकृत एकादशी अछि।
