राम नवमी चैत्र शुक्ल नवमी कें मध्याह्न मे, अभिजित मुहूर्त पर विष्णु कें राम-अवतार कें स्मरण अछि। वाल्मीकि रामायण कें बाल काण्ड मे कथा अछि।
अयोध्या कें राजा दशरथ इक्ष्वाकु वंशीय छलाह मुदा निःसन्तान। तीन रानी कौसल्या, कैकेयी, सुमित्रा — सब वृद्ध भय गेलथि। सुमन्त्र कें सलाह सँ श्रृङ्गी ऋषि कें बजा कय पुत्रकामेष्ठि यज्ञ कयल गेल।
यज्ञ कें मध्य सँ तेजस्वी पुरुष प्रकट भय कय सोन कें पात्र मे पायस लय कय एलाह, ओहि दशरथ कें हाथ मे दय अदृश्य भय गेलाह। दशरथ पायस कें आधा कौसल्या कें, बचल कें आधा कैकेयी कें, चौथाइ कें आधा सुमित्रा कें, आ अन्तिम अष्टमांश फेर सुमित्रा कें देल — ताहि सँ हुनका जुड़वा पुत्र कें वर भेटल। कौसल्या-पुत्र राम पूर्णावतार, कैकेयी-पुत्र भरत, सुमित्रा-पुत्र लक्ष्मण आ शत्रुघ्न।
बालक राम कें जन्म चैत्र शुक्ल नवमी कें मध्याह्न मे भेल, पाँच ग्रह संयोग कें संग। कौसल्या शिशु मे दिव्यता पहचानि कय प्रणाम कयलनि। राम कखनो ओहि पहचान कें माँग नहि कयलनि — यह हुनकर कथा कें मूल पाठ अछि।
राम नवमी मध्याह्न व्रत सँ मनायल जाइत अछि। घर धोआओल जाइत अछि, राम कें पालना झुलाओल जाइत अछि, सुन्दरकाण्ड कें पाठ होइत अछि।
कनाय पालन करब
