ब्रह्म पुराण कें अनुसार ब्रह्मा सृष्टि बना कय देखलनि जे ओ रूप मे पूर्ण मुदा पूर्णतया मौन छल। ब्रह्मा विष्णु सँ पुछलनि; विष्णु वाणी कें देवी कें आह्वान कें अनुमति देलखिन्ह। ब्रह्मा कें मुख सँ सरस्वती प्रकट भेलि — गोर, श्वेत वस्त्र, हंस पर बैसल, दू हाथ मे वीणा, अन्य दू मे पुस्तक आ अक्षमाला। हुनकर वीणा सँ सा-रि-ग कें नाद निकलल आ जगत भरि गेल।
दोसर परम्परा देवी भागवत सँ — सरस्वती त्रिवेणी सङ्गम पर प्रकट भेलथि। तेसर परम्परा ब्रह्मवैवर्त सँ — ब्रह्मा पुत्रीत्व पहचानि कय संयम कयलनि, विष्णु सँ वर पाओलनि जे सरस्वती कें पूजा पुत्री जकाँ हो।
पीला सब ठाँ — हरिद्र, सरसो कें फूल, पीली साड़ी, पीला भात, पीला मिठाइ। पीला वसन्त कें रङ्ग।
बङ्गाल मे सरस्वती पूजा — मुख्य विद्यालय कें पर्व। बच्चा कें कच्चा चाउर पर औंगुर सँ अक्षर लिखाओल जाइत अछि।
कनाय पालन करब
देवी सरस्वती की पीले फूलों और मिठाइयों से पूजा करें। पीले वस्त्र पहनें। नई शिक्षा या सृजनात्मक कार्य आरम्भ करें। बच्चों का विद्यारम्भ संस्कार इस दिन किया जाता है।
